Default Going carb'd (LT1)

This is speculation, so please, no judgement or discussion about why I'd want to, or why I should stay EFI because it will handle X00 hp.

What does it take to go carb'd on an LT1? I need the Edelbrock intake, a carb, and a lower pressure fuel pump.

What is used for spark timing? Still the opti and stock ECM?

Can I use a normal distributer in place of the Opti? Maybe run it off a CPS?

I believe the intake has a provision in the rear to use a distributor instead of the opti for your ignition. This is all I think I know bout this subject.

I am sure someone else can help you out.

This is a long subject...
First are you going to switch to LT4 heads or not?
You will need the later model timing chain cover for the motor.
The one with the large dist hole and the factory block off.
You can use any timing chain you want ,I went with the comp cam adjustable. The cam will need the short dowel pin.
You will also need an MSD 6AL box to make this easier.
You will need a Aeromotive fuel presure regulator,to take the fuel presure down to 6 to 7 lbs.

The intank pump is fine I have the Warlboro 20000169 ,but I do run an external pump,I flip on at the top of 3 rd gear.
Jegs has the distributor that you just hook right into the msd2 wire connector.
On the LT4 motor I run an 850 holley with vaccum secondaries.
I run an electric water pump ,Not the slurry pump but the Misser HD the other is junk.If you realy want to do this you will need to PM me and we can talk on the phone. It will be much easier that way.I do have an 800 number that I only pay 2 cents a minute on .Their are alot of little things but I can't remember right now.
When finished ,you will not be able to use the milage thing ,all other functions will work.I also forgot ,youi will need to get the low profile aircleaner from jegs, they also make a off set aircleaner.Hood clearence is an issue.I have a 4 inch high rise and it fits fine but with the stock hood it is real close. If you are running alot of HP I would just chain the motor down to keep it in place.
