Default LT4 Heads Valve size:

Rebuilding a set of LT4 heads, looking for an aftermarket valve replacement for the stock valve. The stock valve is 2.00 and 1.55. Want to replace with
1pc stainless undercut. Have not seen my machinist-so far. Looking for input and other experiences 1st. How much can the stock seat be cut? Will a 2.02 fit on the intake with machining. Comments and input welcome. Thanks

I want to say 2.02/1.585 though I will have to check on that to be
100% sure.

Aren't the stock LT4 valves hollow? and the exhaust sodium filled?

I would think you'd be better off with those...

The stock valve size is 2.00/1.55, and they are hollow stem sodium filled.

The problem i am running into is what size valve to go with, 2.00,2.02,2.05 etc. Same on the exhaust 1.55 or 1.6. I am finding hard to find 2.00/1.55 size valves. So far i only found that Manley makes them. Federal Mogul and some other major engine sources say to grind down the larger valves to a 2.00 size. WHAT TO DO?

CAn i just run a 2.02/1.6 valve in the stock LT4 seat with a valve job????
What size are you LT4 of LT1 people runnning. The motor is not going to be stock but have a cam, LT4 heads, headers, higher CR.

INPUT NEEDED,

We only use Ferrea valves, because we feel they are the best out there, - so that is of course what I would recommend. They are available in all the sizes you mentioned. For a stock bottom end you really don't even need larger than 2.0/1.56 - and I would definitly not go larger than 2.02/1.585. If you are building a good stroker or FI setup then you might consider more valve area.
