I didn't believe you guys, so I brought 1 firebird wheel bearing, and 1 C4 wheel bearing from autozone. I have them sitting side by side. The firebird bearing is definately a stouter piece, and $50 cheaper. The mounting flange is thicker. (are the factory C4 bolts long enough for the thicker flange ? )
I have a drill press, so I don't foresee a problem at all correcting the 4holes.
In fact the firebird wheel bearing should technically cost more because the holes are drilled and tapped, where as the C4 bearings are just drilled. But the corvette tax does us in again.
I have not gotten mine yet but, they claim that they are the the exact same expensive bearings that come in a dirrent box at auto part stores. They get them straight form the manufacturer and pass the savings on to you.

They "claim", I want facts on that statement. I'm not a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" but sometimes it's true and never in my life have I seen anything Made in the USA be cheaper than anything else on the planet.
The report we got from those wheel bearings is that they were good for one track day, I need something more than that.
You need not drill out the threaded holes ; just run the bolts thru and put the nuts and tighten. Have done it that way 3 years ago and still running fine after track days and at least 75 AutoX's.
