What is the actual difference in the ratios between roller rockers. Obviously more power, but...are they bigger/smaller, or what. I am thinking about a set of 1.6's for my 84 w/ stock valve covers, which I read can be a problem. Please enlighten. If anyone knows, what is the stock size rockers, they are mechanical, I asume?
Everyone seems to like the Comp Cams Pro Magnum rockers, which are physically larger than your stamped steel stockers. The are a good bit wider due to the bearings at the fulcrum.
As far as the ratio is concerned (if I'm reading your question correctly) the physical difference is with the distance between the centerline of the fulcrum and the pushrod seat. The higher ratio rockers shorten that distance in order to achieve greater lift.
As far as fitment goes, you may have to modify your valve covers, but I have no experience with the '84 crossfire motor. Anyone?
