On setting the timing on my 90 vette i was told to disconnect the est wire and i finaly got around set the timing and was having a hard time trying to get to the wire and where i was supposed to disconect it from if any could help me solve my problem id apprecitate it.
once you set timing at the distributor, don't forget to disconnect the (-) battery cable for about 30 secs.....this will clear the code 42 that sets when the EST wire is disconnected.
You will find it between the brake booster and the firewall area. Its brown and has a black cylindrical looking connector.
Im new with corvettes on what side is the brake booster on the only way i can see the wire is right behind the distributer and i cant get back there well enough to unhook it would you happen to have a picture on it.

The brake booster is on the drivers side. like, inline with the steering wheel. Look between the booster and the dist, you should see a bunch of wires. one of them is tan and has a black plastic connecter. you may have to dig a little bit, but not a big deal.
The connector is not on, or under the dist. it is half way between the dist and the booster. actually I think it is closer to the booster.
