So I've enjoyed my Holley Adjustable FPR (# 512-501) and it is well made. The aluminum casing is thick and durable, looks neat, and is a might bit shorter than stock and gives just a touch more clearance in that area. The over-sized adjustment *** is also a plus.
Here's what pisses me off: the diaphram started leaking after maybe a year to 18 months of operation at factory specified fuel pressures. I pulled it apart today and the diaphram itself was untorn, but pulling apart from the inner metal disc that it was pressed onto.
Naturally, Holley does not sell a replacement diaphram for it's "rebuildable" regulator. The diaphram is unique to this unit, and no others are interchangable. Internet searches, the Holley website (tech support has yet to respond) and Summit, Jegs, etc have all come up empty. Of course, my OEM FPR is 1000 miles north in Ohio. If anyone has a spare OEM FPR laying around, I'd be delighted to buy it off of you... So much for driving the car to Kansas next week.

Great news, I think I have one of their AFPRs on the way. At
least it's brand new.... Good for a year or so you say, huh? Good luck finding the part, I'll be paying attention.
i have one you could have. I cant give ya the diaphram or the bolts for it though. I lost one of the bolts and it seemed they were an extreamly odd size/pitch/tpi, so i had to jerry rig my new one up.
What makes the OEM diaphram not useable in the holley ??
Couldn't it be modded to work ??
I love the look and ease of my holley also and surely don't want to have to replace the unit as a whole if the diaphram goes south.
One would think a mod is doable since the stock base and bolt pattern are used.

The spring diameter is HALF the height of the stock unit. Not only would you never be able to compress the Holley shell over the OEM diaphram, but you'd have to hack the bejesus out of the stock spring and take a gamble on what kind of spring pressures you'd come up with once you do cut the OEM spring to fit. And all this is assuming you didn't tear or otherwise damage the diaphram. For that kind of work (and having the possibility of it still leaking anyway), you'll just go back to the stock FPR. This is why it's frustrating.
I probably can take a picture and show you... if I get motivated!
they advertise the Holley AFPR as 'rebuildable" and then dont offer the parts? Is this something one can send in and rebuild or what... i have one, and is a great (looking) and nice operating device. TOO BAD now...

"rebuildable" means you either fab your own diaphram - or you "rebuild" it by buying a new one for $90.
That really sucks...hope you get something figured out.Btw,Ive seen GM FPR's modded from stock to become adjustable. Its been a while but I beleive I recall they drilled the top housing to accept a screw on top and used either a coin or something inside to use for a plate.I thought that was pretty neat..just letting you know its been done. And the stock parts are easy to get if something fails.Boneyards and forum guys have some sitting around.

Well that really bites the big one. What the hell did they even put screws in it for then? Ditto on sending those chowderheads this link. I think that'll be my last Holley purchase too.
I just put one of these things on last year. I agree with all the above, that's just really bad business sense and customer service from Holley and doesnt make me want to buy anything else from them.
