injector troubles?
I have a 91 L98 with 35k miles, it sits most of the time. Has a rolling surging idle when in closed loop. in open loop it runs great. the hotter it gets the worse the idle. Has stalled ,than hard to start (flood mode?). Tried O2 senser, coolent senser, ran Fi injector cleaner threw the rails, new ecm & mem cal, new map, new dist. module, EGR checked (no leaks) checked tps (smooth) cleaned throttle plates and isc motor. adjusted tip in. driving me nuts. start looking at the injectors took 3 ohm readings at different temps. and found from 16 ohms on 4 injectors down to 5.4 on 2 others the rest any where in between. 1 stays at 5.4 hot or cold. Book says 1 ohm between all. could it be a bad batch of injectors? I could see 1 or 2 bad but 4 out of specs?? never had such a problem on a low mi. car. Saw on earlier posts they were using Ford injectors, can anyone give the part#s. any problem with fit and hook-up? The best place to buy them. any help please. cliffsurfs

Sounds like your ohms test of the injectors has answered your question. And most respond by saying if you found one bad one-replace them all because the others aren't far behind. The Ford injectors you asked about are the SUV #24 lb. from what I've read just a simple swap, but I do remember someone I believe saying they had to adjust their FP, can't remember for sure.

I'ts definately your injectors if they read as low as you say. 24lb SVO injectors would require a FP change or a chip change. They would run, but they would be rich. Good luck and I'm glad to see that you found it yourself.
