Code 36 Mass Airflow sensor?

Have you went through the trouble shooting flow chart in the FSM?
There are 3 relays which can affect the Maf. The power relay, the burn off relay and the fuel pump relay. There also could be a short in the circuit. But I'd follow the flow charts before buying a new MAF. BTW, you won't find the FP relay in that section, you need to read code 34 to understand the function of the fp relay with respect to the MAF.

with Rick. I don't know what year you have but in my 86 FSM it says code 36 is MAF sensor burn-off function fault. I would not spend money on the MAF sensor right now, until you troubleshoot. If you don't have a FSM just get back with us.
