Default headlight question

I am sure you guys talk about this, but I am usually not in this section. I am helping a buddy that got his 92 out of paint shop, no wreck, and one of the headlights is now opening and then will start to shake some and sometimes it pops back closed. He is bringing it over tonight and I am trying to get some info on a starting place to check connections or limit switches.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

The gear or bushing in the housing of the motor has probably gone bad. If you cant elevate it with the mechanical ****, it's the gear. Happens to vets and other GM products. Ecklers has a mod or fix kit for it. I just happen to have the Ecklers number from the last one I did, it is 29304. It was $5 per side. It is a nylon gear but metal is made also. I'm sure there other sources for the part also.

Thanks colt94, the motor is running fine but it starts slipping internaly so it can't take the lock mech over center. It looks like you hit the nail on the head. Something like that happened to my midyear and new gears fixed it.

Thanks for the info Jeff

New bushings will cure this, just did it on my 92. By the way the ones on the drivers side can be replaced with the headlight in the car, just remove the three small bolts holding the cover and you can remove the plastic casing and replace the bushings.
