Finished the CNC design and ran the pattern through the waterjet. There are a few minor tweaks we want to make (mostly cosmetic) but the pattern appears to be viable (i.e., no clearance issues, tensioner is working well, etc.). I am putting the car back together now and will start getting some miles on it to see how it holds up. If all goes well, I will upgrade head units to an F1R. My next project will be to start on an 8-rib version (should be a matter of changing one pulley and verifying alignment/offsets). Here are some in pogress photos:
the 12rib look awsome man. No doublt it one of a kind 12 rib Procharged LT1. I must guess. It the only one in the world such 12rib . Very creative work man. I would have follow your step if I have noty gone turbo. Oh well.
Chris
when you have a chance. Can you email me a few pics of how you mount your GEN 7. I think I remember you say before. Your is mount on the front wheel wall where the head light. I think I am going to mount it where my MSD digital 6 box were before which is on the wheel wall. It would be nice if you can email me a few pics.
I already got everything GEN 7, 96s and custom harness from Delteq to adapt that ignition to the GEN 7 but have not start the install yet. Hopefully will be installed real soon.
Bruce
Bruce,
I'll shot you a photoof my DFI install...I did mount it well under the driver's side headlight. Typically, my car never sees rain but I've found that when I wash my car, it drips on the gen vii. I have been thinking of moving it to where the procharger intercooler mounts. I'm alky injected now and I need to fill that hole in my air box anyway...plus, it won't get wet when I wash my car!
MN_Vette,
It is an ATI damper (6 in the front and 12 in the back)...they also do the 6 and 8 rib setup and they are SFI cert. Here's their link:http:
Pulled the bracket and sanded and polished the edges. Installed the water pump and outlet snorkel to see how everything fits. Yes. I did get rid of the optispark and I went with the LTCC. If you look at the photo above from the driver's side, you'll notice the coil packs for 1 & 3 mounted behind the a/c complressor. here are a few more shots:
Sorry guys for continuing to post to this thread but wanted to post a few photos of a running, boost-making, car where I could refer a few friends:
Bruce, you wanted to see where I mounted my Gen VII...well, it is out of the way but when I wash the car, I have to cover it to keep it from getting wet....
Still need to install the BOV and alky injection (needs to go to the weld shop first to get those installed)
Me on the computer doing a little tuning, Mark behind the wheel, and Kurt trying to get my notebook computer to work in the car so we don't have to use my PC in the garage.
