Did a search on super ram and found tons of info, however still have a couple of questions that did'nt get answered.
First, I hear a lot about clearance problems. Is that using the super ram lower intake, or is it using a TPI base intake or something else??
It seems like if you use the SR and the SR lower intake you should'nt have clearance problems. Comments??
Second, will the SR lower intake, bolt on the GM fast burn heads?
My reading and firsthand experience tells me that whatever the original GM parts will bolt to- the SR will match up with(LS,LT engines excluded). The SR inrake, runners and plenum ARE somewhat difficult to reach. NOT impossible. If the engine is out of the car you have an advantage. If not you can certainly still do the install. The quality control of the assembly did leave room for improvement.( alignment of bolt holes). Perhaps you already read of the trick on installing the plenum(I believe I screwed DOWN (from inside the plenum) and then installed the lid. "Eye" it up beforehand for possibilities of enarging a "thru hole" here of there to gain "wiggle room"-so many parts/screws all have to locate correctly. Assemble on the bench first(?)
I will comment later this week when i install mine
I dont think the super ram base will work with the fast burn heads. I do believe there is an intake base available to make the super ram runners and plenum usable. Scoggin Dickey ??

How about a pm after you install yours, would really be interested in how the install went. Thanks.
If you buy one used hold all of the parts in place to check that they mate OK. I bought one used on the forum and left one of the runners wrapped up and didn't check it until after I had it chromed. Well, the drivers side runner has a hole for a cold start injector and the base is for the later L-98 that doesn't have a cold start inj//they don't match. I guess thats why the base looked unused except for the thermostat and distributor mating surfaces.
Aside from my installer being po'd that he has to weld a plug in the hole so it covers the EGR gas slot in the base manifold, I just told him to press on and no body except my teenage grandson would see where the chrome is discolored.
I've been passing all of the trial by fire installation hints that you all put in here and giving them to my installer. Thanks!!!
Just installed mine. Only issue with interference was the factory valve cover would not get past the runners and the 1.6 roller rockers. I think if the factory rockers were still on all would have been fine. I did use an edelbrock base that did have the elongated center bolt holes that can accept the intake bolts either straight up or on the angle.
Good luck on your install you definitely need patience with a superram.
I have the Superram on my ZZ3 in my 85. It fits fine. My only complaint is the same mentioned above, the Driver side Valve Cover is a PITA to take off and I had to "modify" mine to clear the runner. I am thinking about using some aftermarket bowtie centerbolt Valve Covers I saw at my local speed shop, they look like they would fit better then the stockers
i too had to grind on my 200 dollar valve covers to make them fit among other things. i hated the poor excuse for a " bolt on mod " called super ram but it does put out the numbers they say, you will be happy with that.
I bought mine new and although I didn't do the original install I did have the pleasure of having to remove it last week for a leaking injector all over my nice hot headers. Fortuneately I was home when this happened as I cringe at the thought of my house burning down. The install or removal and reinstall of the superram is tedious and time consuming but not overly hard. If I have to do it again I will definitely tap the runners and bolt if from the top to save time. I didn't have to slot any of the bolts to use a screwdriver as some have had to do but having a ratcheting wrench helped in a BIG way. As far as fitment I must have a freak as the machined parts line up perfectly with my gaskets and I have no vacumn leaks whatsoever. Great looking intake and does what it says it will do. I like it!

I have a SR that has the mods to allow it to bolt the runners to the plenum from the top side and has the corners clearanced to easily clear the fuel rails. The runners have been welded and taped, and use countersunk allen head flush mount bolts on the four center bolts (the difficult ones). Very slick to install, Lingenfelter should have designed it this way.
It uses the Accel base and 58MM billet TB. As a bonus, it is painted in Competion Yellow. Pics may be seen in "My Corvette Photos". PM me if interested.
