Just got done using my shop manual to diagnose why my power window stopped moving up or down. I was scared that it was the motor. After test probing the wires the manual indicated that it was the LH power window switch. I was relieved until I saw the price. $109 at the dealer, $92 at the last detail.
I am thinking the contacts on the switch are corroded. Does anyone know if the switch housing can be taken apart. Or do I not waste my time and order a new switch. I also was toying with the idea of picking up a used switch from contemporary corvette for $50 (I live nearby) - the switch is the same for 92-96. I need to have the window repaired before Carlisle. Thanks
