We are doing some work on a LT1 motor and we are wondering how big of injectors we will have to have for it and is the 52MM TB to small, the engine will look like this:
pistons 0.030 SRP forged flat top about 11:1
rods Eagle 5.7 h-beam
crank Eagle 3.48 forged 4340 steel
cam CompCam @50 226/234 520/540 112 solid roller
lifters CompCam solid roller
timing chain Cloyes True double roller
bolts ARP
Heads ported stock 2.00-1.55 260/185 @0.500
intake ported
rocker arms dont know yet but think it will be from CompCams
headers dont know what he has got.
He will be racing it and using the juice on it I think he is talking about 150hp Shot it will be wet but we dont know if it will be a plate or fogger system.
It is a 6 speed car what does he have to do because of that?

Re: Doing some work on LT1 (MrJay)
Doesn't look to bad. I'm using a Comp custom grind can that Cartek had made to match the flow numbers of my heads. I wouldn't buy anythink off the shelf with good ported heads. The 52mm tb is OK and I'm using larger injectors But no matter what you do to the motor you'll never get all that power to the ground with a 6M. So with juice you'll run low 12's at 128 mph.
Let me hear how you'll get all that power to the ground.
The SVO's well work fine for your application - I would look at the 30lb'rs. For a bit over 200 they are hard to beat.
You are definitly going to want to look to your fuel system though. NA I think you would be fine with the stock fuel pump and 30's, but with a nitrous shot added in at a minimum you are going to want a good inline pump. a 100 shot and 30's will definitly be more than the stock pump can safely handle.
I like the solid roller setup - just one warning - on the lifters you are going to want to go with the 0.300+ endure-x lifters if you don't want machine work, otherwise for a budget drop in solid lifter you want to look at the crane 11522-16. The are a bit under 300 and don't require any machine work. Standard SBC lifters will require you to clearance for the link bar.
I would also highly recommend 7/16th's studs if you still have that option open to you!
Mackeyred96 yes this is a custom grind cam we have a good friend at CompCams that made it for us he told us it would be a good cam for the NOS, we get him to pick and make all the cams we use and he has not been wrong yet.
ChrisB we are thinking about putting in a nother fuel pump and have it just be for the NOS or would you just put in a bigger inline pump, the thing we like about putting in a nother one is that it will not be on when the NOS is not on.
Yes we have 7/16 studs in the heads, we machined the block so we could use the other lifters, we like to do that then use the other lifters, we have had good luck with the others so why change right....lol
What about the 6 speed will it go on the first pass?
The tranny will be just fine, your stress points are going to be the clutch and all the u-joints in the rear. Come to think of it, I haven't seen anybody who has damaged the tranny, but I could have just not been looking really close :D
We were looking at the top ring on the pistons and they are so close to the top only 0.175 we want a little more for the NOS so I guess we will be calling SRP to see if they have any that dont have the right that high up there.
We are thinking about o-ringin the block because of the NOS, can you get copper head gaskets for LT1 motors?
