Yeah that was me...except the Vette is Midnight Blue Pearl (can't tell it's blue until the sun hits a curve on it)
There is an Augusta Corvette Club...I haven't checked them out, I've talked to a couple of Vetters on post about it and it's mostly older folks. Here the site: http://www.casualcorvettes.com/
Phil Ferency....you were right. I was about to rebleed the system when I though, you know...he has a point, I should check just to be sure. Sure enough, its all wet and the seal is in bad shape. Now could this be the culprit of all my problems? Secondly, where do I get the stuff to fix this?
ANYONE know the part # or cost of the hydraulic (the upper cyclinder with resivoiur) how about the lower one at the clutch? Also does the upper come with the seal at the firewall? What do you think the chance is that I can get these parts at a local parts store?
edit added: I dont think I need a new upper one but I do need the seals.
Phil Ferency, where did you get the seal from? Every place I have been checking is out of them at a national level. NAPA, Auto Zone, Advance auto, and a couple of others. I dont know what to do. They all have the clutch master cyclinder between 110-170. I am now screwed since this my daily driver is out of commision until I can get the parts!! Aint that some BS, cant fix the car cause no one carries the parts. Anyone got any ideas for some temp fixes so I can drive the car until next weekend so I can hopefully have the parts to fix it?

My opinion, don't waste your time with doing seals. If the parts stores don't have what you need, call the dealer. If that doesn't work out, order from rockauto.com. Cheapest prices on the best brands. They sell a clutch slave rebuild kit, but not a master kit. The complete cylinders there are about $120 each.

I am going to get a new slave cylinder but I dont want to get a new master cylinder cause all I need is 1 seal. Its a really easy job and it does not require me to buy a new cylinder. That would be like buying a gumball machine when I only wanted one gumball. Also, I talked to a reliable transmission place yesterday and they were 99% sure that seal is my only problem. I guess we'll see about that when I finally get the parts.
try mid-america or Ecklers for the needed parts, they specialize in Vettes
Both sites are more expensive then auto zone or advance auto. I am getting the slave cylinder for $79.99 and the master cylinder kit for 12.99 Thanks for the sites though...I really did not have any for corvette specific parts!
cuisinartvette...thanks for the parts number list.
ATTN ALL, You can no longer get the clutch master cylinder kit. Its been discontinued. I guess there is no demand for it. I called up the dealer and if you even want to get the master cylinder you have to order a 87 on up one and do a conversion which requires you to change out the clutch pedal! The newer one has a bushing that is .38 in and the old one is .43 in. So now I am getting a new master cylinder just because my bushing is shot! BTW GM wants $274 for the master cylinder (plus you have to buy the clutch pedal and adapter)....you can get one from auto zone for $39.99 (direct fit and I will have mine in 2 days!).
