Installed some 6x9's
I have an aftermarket sony deck in my car...i previously rewired it and by passed the bose amps and wired directly to the little 4" speakers..I had some old 6x9's from a 92 sunbird kicking around so i put them in..the bolt holes didnt line up so i broke out the hot glue gun. There in nice and solid and there is a huge improvment in sound quality i actually have bass now, i can feel it hit and picked up some volume. Pretty damn good for factory paper delco speakers..a worthwhile mod for anyone.

I was told that the bose speakers are a different amperage or something like that and would burn out your expensive deck within a year... for 50 bucks I'd replace the 5 1/4's.

i think there a low resistance..and draw more current..if i play it very loud, after about 40 minutes the desk over heats and shuts off...so i keep it under 22 (goes to 30) and its fine..but i think the 6x9's will definitley help..gonna do the fronts when i get some cash
one a side note i got my bose speakers and amps hooked to my tv, through my computer...im running the amps off an old pc power supply..works great way better than the 5x7 in the 20 y/o set
