Battery DEAD
my 86 has been in storage I got it out would not start. So I jump started it it fired right up ran great and about 5 min it shut off went to start it back up no dash lights at all. Jump started agian ran but shut down agian found out the battery was done. Is there somthing in a vett that will not let it run if the battery is shorted out I went to get a new battery it fired right up and ran good

Sorry, first thing you did wrong was jump start it! When your battery has been sitting and has gone down-you need to charge them for 24 hours, BTW, doing so might just save you from replacing an alternator too.
