I tried posting this in the general discussion and got no response. Perhaps you folks can answer this for me. I have the dreaded anti-lock light on all the time. I looked at the relay, which is a Bosch. Is this an original part? When I checked the Bosch web-site, I could not find the part. I was able to find a listed AC Delco part at discountparts.com for $27.
There are four wires going to the relay. The black one, the ground, as expected was 0 volts. The orange-black and the pink-black wires had 11.7 volts. The orange wire was zero. I think the orange should also be hot. Is it the relay? I don't want to order a new relay if I don't have to.
Pink/Black wire: Battery voltage with key in on position. Nothing in off. Orange/Black wire: Battery voltage at all times. Orange wire: No voltage Black wire: No voltage. With relay removed, it must have continuity to ground.
Relay connected.
Measured at the bottom side of connector while relay is plugged in.
Pink/Black wire: Battery voltage with key in on position. Nothing in off. Orange/Black wire: Battery voltage at all times. Black wire: Battery voltage between it and Pink/Black with key in on positon. Nothing in off. Orange wire: Battery voltage when key is in On position. Nothing in off.
Relay
At the relay terminals with the relay unpluged and out of the car.
There must be continutity between terminals 15 and 31 at all times.
No continuity between terminals 30 and 87.
Continuity must be present between terminals 30 and 87 only when battery voltage is run across terminals 15 and 31.
86 Pacer, thank you for all the great information. I think it is the relay. Where did you get the bosch relay and what did it cost you. I didn't recognize the initials you mentioned. Would the AC Delco be just as good?
TLD is The Last Detail. I can't remember what I paid for it. It was about $40. Dealer wanted much more.
This place carries it too.
You are going to have to snip off the rim around the connector bottom of the relay so that it seats with the connector on your car. You'll know what I mean when you get the relay. http://www.artscorvetteparts.com/par...4-ae7f83713595
