Well I just got done installing the TPIS filter and airfoil and took it to the track. I'm only posting mph differences because it seemed that I forgot how to drive that day. I went from a 96.2 to a 98.0. The rest of the ticket is really embarrassing I even had one 15.01 run with a 2.8 60' time. Yea it sux. But this does show you that something got better. I just did plugs, wires, cap, and rotor along with adjusting the fuel pressure so I'll try and get back to the track and post some more results. I'm trying to trap 100.

Do have results from a previous day at the track? I'm curious to see what else you've got to back up that performance gain because I'm looking to intall those same products in my '90. As a point of reference, my 6-speed car has run a best of 14.0 and 100 MPH, but elevation, stock auto tranny, and many other variables can change 1/4 mile times and trap speeds significantly.

Amount of fuel in the tank, temperature, air in the tires, the amount of alcohol you drank the night before, etc......
Yea, I guess changing the filter and foil is way too much. I was just posting the difference I got. Sorry that it isn't the most helpful information, if you don't like it don't waste your time and reply. If its that bad why take that five precious minutes from your life and give it attention. I mean damn, i know you must have something better to do.
if all he did was the filter and foil before the trip to the track to post those results, it does show some improvement, provided they are at the same track in almost the same conditions. if the other mods were also done it could be anything that brought about the improvement
I agree. He only made two changes and he did see an increase in his mph. Given the same conditions of each test would reveal a more realistic baseline but then again he would know better than anyone how it improved his times. What kind of filter did you use? Establishing a good baseline is great in any circumstance but who on here actually does it to perfection? Each run would require too many changes to make it worthwhile if we were being totally scientific. I for one am glad to see his results and his posting. Give the guy a pat on the back for doing something and posting his results. How do you know that the conditions weren't worse and yet his MPH still improved? Wouldn't it have been easier to ask him that instead of trying to belittle him?

I've done this test myself at the 8th mile strip. I removed my K&N filter and ran with no filter.....nothing changed. No benefit at all. Same with the foil. I did the tests same day with consistent 60ft and all. If you're spinning badly off the line, I understand that can cause your mph to increase at the finish. That must be what caused your results. If you want a great mod for great results, sounds like you need some new tires. Also, I wouldn't adjust your fuel pressure unless you're on a dyno with wideband.
