I am starting to acquire the parts for my Head Cam build and I have a rocker arm question. For now I will be running the stock cubes with a cam somewhere between the Hot Cam and the CC306, ported heads, etc.
For rockers I want to go full roller and I was wondering if the there was much benefit with going with the full aluminum comp cam roller (part # 1016-16) vs. the standard pro magnum roller (part #1016-16). I am assuming the difference is in the weight – with the full aluminum rocker being lighter. Can someone confirm this? Price looks to be about $40 higher for the full aluminum.
I will most likely go with the full aluminum but I want to verify the diff before spending the money and the comp website does not give a good description.
**Have you looked at the Crane roller rockers? I have a set in mine and they work fine, and they are adjustable.**
That is what I am doing right now.. price is better - full aluminum. Just trying to decided on ratio. the cc306 is big 230/244 with .540 lift with a 1.5 ratio. I'm not sure if it's worth going with the 1.6

I don't know about Comp Cams' aluminum rockers but the stainless steel Pro Mags are lighter than most aluminum rockers anyway, and are a good choice. Their durability is great and if ever needed, they can be rebuilt.
