Default Magnaflow Mufflers

Anybody running the new (I guess they are new) magnaflow mufflers with the LT 1 tip that Corvette Central has advertised in this months CE. Was wondering how they sound and if there is a resonance issue.

I put OEM LT1 mufflers on my car, and with no cats, they sound awsome! No resonance either. I think with most aftermarket mufflers, you're going to have at least a little resonance, regardless of what brand you put on.

Thanks for the info Parafrog, interesting stuff. My exhaust is stock right now, just a little too quiet, but I am not really looking forward to having a resonance problem either.

I was thinking of installing the Y-pipe with cross-over tube they offer with the Magnaflows. Anyone have this combo on their car? What's the sound like?

Reminds me of the Loudmouth. Find a clip of the borla and you will fall inlove.

I have them on my 92, loud, very loud. I like them for the most part, but at about 65 mph and you are in over drive, it will drive you nuts. When you put your foot into it, they are great! Over 75 not bad, but dang at 65, I almost have to put it into 3rd to get the RPM up to over come the rumble.

My 2 cents, Vinnie

I have them for my L98 (see my website for installation pics).

I like them. Huge improvement over stock.

I installed a Magnaflow cat in place of the OEMcat. Looks like an OEM cat but it is different! Sound is great! Growls like a Vette should. Im also running a Borla cat back.

Just to aid in how well it sounds. I ran an OEM cat that was too tame or should I say lame. Removed that and replaced it with a test pipe! Sounded good yet had some resonance pulling uphill grades. Installed a Maganaflow cat and found it sounded as good as the test pipe yet reduced some (not all) of the uphill resonance.

Cost? $127 delivered from Summit.
