Default Differential problems

I changed the diff oil in my 88 and added 1 bottle of anti-slip additive. How do I know it is enough. If it is not enough is there chattering or squealing or does the diff just drop out if it burns up

Not sure I understand the question. But if it is how to tell if the diff is full, it is full when oil starts to run back out the fill hole. Is that what you meant?

4 oz (1 bottle) of Limited slip additive is fine, although 8 oz is recommended.

Of course, pour that in first then top off with gear oil.

I dunno about symptoms. But the LSD clutches should last for the life of the car.

2, 4oz bottles of the friction modifier works best......put in first, then fill the rest of the way (preferably with synthetic like mobil one gear lube) untill it starts to come out a little and thats it ........Joe

Sorry for not being more clear. I did add the oil and additive to the top of the fill hole so I know it is full. I was just trying to find out if there was enough additive and what the sypmtoms would be if there was not enough.

Dang you are good. I could never fill mine past the BOTTOM of the fill hole.

I actually did get it to the top of the fill hole but then it all ran out.
