Default AFtermarket wheel mocked fitted - Dissapointed.. Pics !

I tried out my lovely momo wheel today on my car. it looks great. but something felt wierd.. then i lay them down side by side and notced something...

Im pretty upset. Its the right hub for a 93 (2401). Maybe its the shallow wheel design? Im trying to have a 1.5 inch thick round spacer made to bring the wheel within 1/4 of an inch of the stocker. I dont like the feel of the wheel being so close to the dash.

That sucks
The telescopic won't bring it out far enough where it feels comfortable

There's no telescopic function on a 93+. I believe momo knew this because the hub i got (2401) states its for a non telescopic corvette up until 93. I just dont see how they could make the wheel 1 and 3/4 of an inch further forward. I asked someone i knew that had contacts at a machine shop try and make a 1 1/2 inch round spacer that I'll put in between the hub and the wheel. Then all i need is longer bolts and Everything will work the way i like.

wow... then again, the wheel on the 90+ might be set closer because of the airbag... they may move it farther away so you don't wack the wheel in a wreck...

just a thought... but the new wheel looks hot.

I just found out momo has spacers in 15mm and 25mm so these should take care of my problem

Get the #2702 hub and you won't have this problem. It spaces the wheel out to the same location as the stocker.

Larry would you mind measuring the height of the hub for me? Just curious how thick it is compared to the one i have. I dont see how they would make that one much taller than this one or why.

I'm actually glad to see this... this is something I plan on doing myself (switching to a MOMO sterring wheel). I am average height, but I have longer than normal arms and with the seat all the way back still don't have enough leg room (95)... can't do much about the leg room, but this looks like it will help put my arms where they may feel right... thanks for the post - I am sure it will look good.

Did you have any plans for your stocker? Brian needs a new wheel pretty bad.

Not too sure about the stocker just yet. with the fitment issues and being a spicky as i am i felt like throwing the momo in the garbage and putting the stock one back on. I honestly dont know if i would sell it though or still keep it as a spare in case i wanted to switch back. Im not going to know what the momo will feel like until i drive the thing.. and its been 3 1/2 years and counting. Im guessing by next weekend though we may actually have it started !

The first seller on ebay had them on for about $161 usd. He lied to me for weeks then said it got lost and eventually refunded me the money. Every other vendor on ebay and in canada had them on backorder, and momo themselves said they were still on back order. I found a seller on ebay from taiwan but he had it for $239usd. impatient as i am i bought it but there was no duty/tax on it so it helped even the cost out.

I'll post final pics of the interior im trying to do, nothing special just a dash kit and wheel/shifter/boot/pedals. After the car is running i should get my custom made dash kit in the mail and then be able to install it and clean the interior nicely.

Until then, can anyone with a 2702 hub plz just quickly measure the length - or height depending on how you look at it ? Here's my #2401 hub and its about 70mm (2 3/4 inches).
