Default '93 Auto troubles, after rebuild

I had my auto rebuilt last may, and it was great. Oct. it sat, until this past Feb. No problems at all, until about 2 weeks ago, when it felt like it woudln't shift out of first, then eventually wouldn't engage in gear at all. Took it back to the shop, they said planetary gears exploded. After they fixed that, they took it for a test drive, and something didn't feel right, so they kept it, and said they checked out the valve body, but nothing was wrong, so they say.

Got it back today, and the car feels totally different. It shifts like a honda, like there's no kick at all. It was first rebuilt with a higher stall, and shift kit. It feels like just before I had problems a few weeks ago, where it doesn't engage hard, doesn't shift hard, sounds funny, idles high. Check engine light, and Service ASR light are both on too.

The SES a SASR lights are a bad sign.If your engine is not running right neither will your tranny.Get your factory service manual out and pull your codes and repost.I suspect it is not your tranny causing them.

That being said the 93 tranny is different from any other 700R4/4L60 transmission and was the last year for the TV cable.Once you get the engine right if it still doesn't feel right tell the tranny guy to hook up a gauge and set the TV cable by pressure.

car goes back monday morning.

the car idles all over the place, volts are erratic, and it stalled last night. the car was recently tuned up with new plugs, wires, opti, etc about 2 months ago. i can't imagine what it could be since it's been at the tranny shop for the last week.

vacuum lines woudln't cause problems like this, would it?

They could or any number of things.Like I said my tranny did not work right till my engine did.A torque convertor depends on the engine to drive it and a missing ,erratic engine does not have the same torque a well tuned one does.Sounds like something in the tune up was not tight or went fubar.

When they rebuilt mine, they forgot to hook up my ground. On the drivers side, look to see if the grounding strap is hooked up to the tranny and the body; just underneath the brake booster.
