How in God's Green Earth do you get this friggin shifter **** off of this 6 speed transmission???? I've pulled the cap off the ****, and tried tugging on that little rectangular metal pin looking thing to no avail, and it will not budge. Next step is dynamite, unless somebody has a more productive method in getting it off.
I've got a purty new Hurst **** to go back on it, if I could just get the #$%& OEM **** off of it. TIA

Yep, that is about the only way to do it. You'll never pull it out. Get a small vice grips locked onto it, then tap up with the hammer on the vice grips
