How in the hell do I get the right valver cover off a '90 L-98! It is off, everything but the a/c pump is removed and I can't get out between the a/c and the intake. Do I need to remove the intake or a/c or is there a way to angle it out?
It's the bracket that gets in the way on the PS of the engine. I unbolted the AC compressor from the support bracket and braces. Then just removed the bracket.

I just removed mine last week. I loosened the ac bracket (to give it some play) and removed the egr pipe. Then I just angled the valve cover out. I had more trouble on the drivers side.
Larry64, what prep work did you do to the valve covers before you spray painted them? I'm going to be repainting mine shortly, and am looking for any pointers I can find

Ben
I did mine just last week. I have access to a sand blaster so I used that to take all the old paint off. I then sanded it with emery cloth to get rid of the odd blemish. I applied a couple coats of hi-temp primer then painted them. They turned out great! Just make sure when you put then back on to be careful and not scratch the new paint!
