But here it goes. Where is the diagnostic connector on my 93 vert? I need to check for an intermittent code. Thanks for any help.

look under the drivers side of the dash just above where your right knee would be while driving. It is a trapazoid shaped connector.

Do you have to remove the under pinning cover to see it?

Okay, I stuck my head all the way to the brake pedal and accelerator. No sign of the connector. I really do know what it looks like too. I have seen many diagnostic connectors in my time. The dash on my 93 is completey covered on the underside. I have removed the carpeted section but that revealed nothing. Can anyone send a pic of where I should look. Thanks in advance for your help.

It should be here. It might still have a black diagnostic cover over it. You should be able to find it where the carpet ends on the bottom side of the dash as described above. It' about 1 1/2" x 1 size.
Sorry no pics

it's right above your right knee. Where the carpet and the plastic join.

The panel doesn't have to be removed. Take another look.

The color of the cover hides it very well if the lights are not on in the footwells. The plug is covered and on the face of the cover in my 90 it says "Diagnostic Connector" or "ALDL Connector" or something like that....it's been a while since I found it and I didn't find it quickly in a dark garage....it's about 1" x 3" so if it's dark you might miss it like I did the first lookie.:o
Follow the carpeted knee bolster, hush panel, from the dash down to the bottom edge on the right side of the steering wheel and your hand will get to the edge of the hush panel and it should be somewhere along that edge between the trans hump and the steering wheel.

like everyone has said, just above you knee on the right side. Sitting in the drivers seat you can almost see it but if you reach down with your right hand under the dash you should be able to feel it. right there in the front not too far back. kinda looong oval shaped, black plastic and if the cover is removed you should see pins inside of it, get a flashlight.
good luck,

Well... On my 94 its right above the gas pedal about 6 inches or so and attached to the bottom of the dash assembly (padded kick plate). It kinda points slightly downward.

Remove nothing, get your head down there with a flashlight, look for wires to a connector. Or if someone removed it they could have shoved it up high into a pocket where the wires are coming from. If there is really no connector mounted stick your hand up there to see if something will pull down GENTLY. Good luck.

If you do, consider yourself blessed. Many C4s came from the factory sans the connector cover and you'd shet yourself if you knew what MAM charges for those *****!
