Default 84 4+3 OD bypass

sometimes the OD in my 84 4+3 kicks out since i have a 180 tstat and the ecm is set to only allow OD engagement over 180 on an 84. I found a post in tech about bypassing the OD which says to pull the wires out of the "A7 and C8" connectors of the ECM and cross them directly. Upon further inspection i saw the post was written by an 86 owner. Im lookin at my helms, (for an 84) fig 126.3 pg 6E2-116, im thinking of either pulling circuits 422 and 450 out of the ECM and crossing them, or just pulling the 422 circuit wire out of the ECM and grounding it to something under the dash. i think the latter is the way to go, since if i cross the two wires im not grounding the selonoid, im sending another 12 volts to the selonoid. anyone done this on an 84?

Tap a ground wire into the tan/blk wire on the overdrive relay. I recall it's pin B. This will allow manual control with the console switch, unless the car is in 1st gear, or unless it's going to slow to maintain fluid pressure.

So, no more taching the car out in 4th gear waiting for it to warm up, but you'll lose your automatic kickdowns as well.

The info above is specific to the 84 only.
