Default Vac leaks checking with Easy start or so?

I did read quite a few times that you can find a vac leak with a spray can Easy start or propane. So I tried, without any result. Than I liked to know what effect it was I was looking for and sprayed in the TB, No change in Idle RPM I tried to spray in the IAC passages, No noticable effect either
If that has no effect, how can I find a leak with this method?
Does it only work when the A/F mixture is lean?

I have used propane and WD-40. It is suppost to increase idle when the leak is found. Neither found a leak. I did use the propane directly into the TB and did get a slight increase in idle.

If you only get a slight increase when spraying directly into the TB, I wonder if you ever find a small leak.
My RPM did not change sufficient to be noticable

That is a good question. I have also heard of shops using smoke to find leaks, but never had it done before.

I never have heard of that, but may be a good idea. A material that generates a good smoke when burned without screwing up your cat.
If you ever run into a good method, I appreciate it when yo post me, The Propane methode doesn´t work for me. I will do the same.

I have these smoke sticks that when squeezed spray out a very black smoke. I tried it once but its very hard to use because when the engine is running the smoke gets blown around everywhere. Very hard to tell if there is a vacuum leak.

The one thing I'll say is checking for vac. leaks is not for the impatient.
It really takes time..and should be done slowly.Plus, you should actually check that all the plastics are actually still plugged in, I found one I could swear was good looking at it..but no, it was cracked right where it plugged in.WD40 is just to messy for me, I rely on propane...but what I've found is I can no longer rely on my hearing, so I have the wifey watch the tach for jumps while I check the lines.

I really do want to do the smoke test...but I'm sure it's a very slow process too, and I'd think you'd want the smoke as close to the vac. lines as possible...I think the theory is you should actually be able to see the smoke get sucked in.

I don´t have these smoke sticks available here in Spain, so tried the propane. My problem is, even when sprayed into the TB, the RPM doesn´t go up more than standard variation I hear I really cant hear the presence of Propane in the TB. So it is impossible to decide if a very small RPM variation is due to the bad Idle or due to the propane. When I had a perfect smooth idle, I guess I didn´t have to look for vacuum leaks.
