i notice alot of talk on removing the clear coat of the wheels well yesterday i got the stripper from ecklers and it work great , i appliaed with a brush then removed it with paper towel then i used the hose to clean the remining of the clear coat, i did this twice on each rims so far i done 2 after removing the cear coat i used wenol to polish the aluminium there looking great i will polish them again today and summit some pic hers is the item # for what i used from ecklers----Item# A4933

I did mine about a month ago. Just used a spray on paint thinner from Lowe's then Blue Magic polish and fine steel wool, no sandpaper. I had spare set of rims so did not have to worry about getting stripper on the tires, nor on the car. It took about 2 hours per wheel. I did not recoat the wheels after I was done. Not a professional job, but looks lot better for my DD vette.
