They're a decent replacement head, but it really depends on what your hp goals, budget allows, what porting stage you go with, etc. I've also read that AFR is currently revising/upgrading their castings and offering.
Depending on your supporting mods, cam size, tune quality, etc. you can expect anywhere from 380-420rwhp NA from your stock bottom-end.
Did the LT4's stock heads already have a 195cc and flow about 240cfm or am I just on crack? I read that on grand sport registry but that sounds like too high for stock numbers...again maybe im just going crazy :-P
What would be the best/cheapest reliable heads to get to reach 400 rwhp? (of course with corresponding cam and what not) I need to know what money I need to set aside just for the heads. Would I need these AFR's or could I just get an edelbrock or trickflow that is cheaper?

My friend said he would port my stock heads for cheap ($300-$400) and he does them for a racing company and does a good job. But I dont want to mess with my stock heads...I want to keep all my stock stuff stock so I can turn the car back to stock if I ever want to.
