The rebuild on the engine has begun... Still deciding on exact internal specs. Probably just a hot little 355 with all forged stuff... I am making plans to make it nice! Got a former NASCAR engine guy putting it all together. Now, I want to get the appearance thing going...
The Plan:
1. Ceramic Coat the headers!
2. Add a bit of tasteful color and or chrome to the engine bay. I would like to replace the factory LT-1 valve covers with something that looks a bit nicer and makes a shine!
3. Powder coat the intake. Red like the LT-4.
4. Maybe paint the fuel rail covers. Not sure about this one yet...
Any suggestons are welcome, in particular, any ideas on which valve cover will work for the LT-1 (with Crane 1.6;1.0 roller rockers.)
I was in my local Chevrolet dealer parts dept last week. They had a new small block GM valve cover hanging on the wall...looked like stainless or chromed center bolt covers. Drop dead beautiful. I think the tab was about $250. I might get them when my heart starts beating again.
