I have a96 lt4 coupe the windsheild had a stone chip that turned into a crack . called the local glass shop to replace ,the tech comes out and installs the new windsheild and now the wipers hit the hood and bind ,i noticed that there adjusting blocks at the bottom of the hood but the tech said he didnt touch them any ideas
I too just had my windshield replaced. I used a PPG windshield. My wipers are also now hanging up on the hood. I saw when the glassman removed the two plastic wiper stops at the base of the windshield, and he re-installed them exactly as they where. The wiper arms are both on the correct sides and installe properly. I'll post pics and maybe a fix tomorrow when it's light out.
My recent windshield replacement went a bit differently. I ended up with a 6" long vertical crack near the middle of the winshield at the top after a small rock hit it. I had the windshield replaced and drove the car home. The next day while driving, a large stress crack appeared alongside the passenger A-pillar. I had the windshield replaced again and no problems. The wipers also seem to work fine.
i have a similar issue in my C3 corvette. the installer put to much glue behind the windshield and it sits to high on the frame. When I say high i mean off the frame. like taking 1 inch spacers and putting them between the frame and thw windshield.
When I had mine replaced they used an after market gasket..not only did the damn thing leak, but I noticed the gasket was much firmer than the OEM, and my door windows were binding on it alittle...they replaced it with an OEM gasket, heck it was only $20. more than the after market...course they broke the new windshield taking it out..but that was on them.Bet they don't use after market gaskets on any more vette windows.
After a stone crack in mine I had Safelite replace it. It took 4 windshields to get it right but I made them get it right. It was an insurance claim and my insurance wouldn't pay them until I was satisfied. Make them get it right...G

that might be the problem.
That was the first thing I thought. What did you do to counter this problem?

Well today I took a real good look at mine. At the base of my windshield, one side is higher than the other.
What is happening with mine is that when the wiper goes to move, it's pushed up and catches the hood when the wiper edge folds over the other way under it.
I had a slight hang up with my original windshield. I grinded the top of the blade down to the retaining post from the arm and it fixed the problem. But now there is no more room to grind because that retaining post from the wiper arm sits high instead of low on the blade. Maybe a wiper blade from other cars of similar dimensions, but with a lower profile would work?
