Simple LT4 htr question
Which heater nipple is the outlet and inlet? The Top is...and the bottom is...? My shop manual does not say and I do not have all the other junk hoses on the car to tell. Thanks

My 95 should be the same plumbing. If you look at the 5/8" hose there is a plastic fitting (might be a check valve) with an arrow on it pointing the flow direction. This is about a foot forward of the heater connections.
Also, coming off the surge tank hose goes to top heater hose connection, the previously mentioned 5/8" hose goes to the bottom heater inlet. There are total of 3 hoses, engine to surge tank, surge tank to heater, heater to engine.

In any heater core I've ever seen where the connections are stacked, the lower is always the inlet. The same holds true in the C4.
