Ok I'm starting to accumulate some parts to mod. the engine in my 85,I'm kinda on a buget(wife) so I'm gonna do the upper end only. To start with I have 3.07 gears and a stock auto. I picked up a pair of Bow Tie heads casting#12480034 phase 3, 64 cc chambers,2.02/1.60 184cc runner. Now next will be a intake/ runners and headers/exhaust,any advise on a flat tappet hyd. cam.1.6 or 1.5 roller rockers?I would like to run the stock gears and trans if possible for a while at least. Thanks for any help or ideas.
something similar to the LPE 219 cam and a good set of 1.6 roller rockers...a very proven combo.
also, to do runners and base...might as well swap out the TPI intake for a different style such as superram...the cam and other mods will let the motor rev...but the TPI chokes it hard...
take those specs and see what you can match to it for a hydraulic cam. or, do a bit of research and come up with a custom grind. something in the ballpark of those specs should make your combo scoot real good...
i believe the specs are 219/219 duration @ .050 and .560" lift with 1.6 rockers.

lpe 212 flat tappet cam, that will be a perfect cam being considered u have 184 cc heads, 3.07 gears. Also use Tpis compressed head gasket to bump up little compression eguals to 10 hp, u need to tune a custom chip for it. Consider a TC of atleast 2600-2800 stall speed well this will be an optional though.
