power antenna agony
A few days ago, when I put my '87 in for the night, I shut off the ignition with the radio still on. I heard the antenna retract. When it lowered all the way down, I could hear the motor keep on turning and turning. I pulled the fuse to shut the d*mn thing off. I then located the antenna connector and disconnected it. The cable must have broke inside. Do I need to buy a new antenna motor, or can this be fixed by an average Joe. Thanks in advance.

You can replace the mast as a unit or just the antenna and nylon cable. The motor and housing are probably still good. Best way is to remove and dismantle it in order to make a decision. Most of the major Corvette aftermarket mfrs. have these kits.
