I have a 1984 with 78K miles. While driving I heard a loud bang, and then a loud clunking noise from under the rear of the corvette. The noise only continues when driving, so I had it put on a flat bed and towed home. I removed both rear tires and don't see anything obvious. I put the car in neutral and turned the rear wheels and hear a slight click. This leads me to believe there might be a bad yoke or something to do with torque converter???
I thought of the rear end at first, but that noise is really loud. I put it on stands and put it in drive and it make the same loud noise. I was thinking that a noise in the rear end would be more muffled.
I probably should have a second person listen to it, or get it on the lift.
