Default Codes 24 and 44

I had my SES light come on twice in the last month and then go off. I finally got around to checking the codes.

DTC #24: Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit.
DTC #44: Bank 1 LF Heated Oxygen Sensor #1 Circuit Lean.

Now the fun part, what am I looking at?

Which bank is bank 1?

BTW, thanks to Casethecorvetteman for a great write up on reading codes and what the codes are for a ’95. (gotta love the forum)

I had a code 44 on my 87. Replaced the O2 sensor and its been running well since. It was actually a really easy job to do, it took me longer to get the front end of the car up than it did to actually change the sensor.

This should be the O2 sensor on the drivers side before the cat. I just replaced 2 O2 sensors on mine this week. The one on the drivers side is easy, the passenger side is a little tricky.

The O2 sensor in question is on the drivers side. Not to difficult to get to just have to bend the heat shield out of the way. Not as easy as the L98. For the Speed Sensor circuit I would test the circuit and make sure it's not grounded. Does the speedometer work as it should or does it start working a ways down the road?

Speedo seems to work fine.

I changed the O2 sensors last year because I didn't like the way it was running (no codes). It didn't improve the way it ran. Maybe I'll put the old one back in.
