Default Easy interior wiring question

Hi guys,
Is an 85 pre-wired from the factory for lighted vanity sunvisors and a lighted mirror? Is the wiring tucked up under the trim if the car did'nt come equipped with lighted visors or a lighted mirror? My 85 has a regular mirror, and the visors don't look stock. I might want to change them out soon, and need to know what to buy. Don't want to look for vanity mirror sunvisors if there's no wiring in place for them!

I just wanted to ask before I take the trim pieces off the windshield frame to find out. TIA, Joe

I used to have a Silverado that didn't have the compass and outside temp thing and I bought one at a junk yard and the wires were up there for it. Even if they aren't it wouldn't be that big a deal to run power up there to operate those items.

I have an 86 and although I am not the original owner I suspect it was pre-wired for the vanity mirror on the passenger side. The wires go up the post, under the trim and down the window post. I have a short somewhere.
Although the vanity lights don't work, I did a homemade repair of the roof liner and used left over fabric to repair both cracked and folded in half visors. I did this instead of buying the replacement visors that Ecklers or Mid America sell for between $75 and $120. You can get which ever type of visor and attachments you want from them and I've heard they fit fine.

Cannot say that the same is true of the 85s, but even though my 88 did not come from the factory with a driver side vanity mirror and light, it was wired for it at the factory.

I had a funny little rattle in the windshield trim that I finally got around to fixing last month. Removed all of the windshield trim and found the driver side vanity light power connector tucked into the windshield frame near the targa mount. The plastic connector was tapping against the frame inside. Wrapped it in cloth, secured with electrical tape, and tucked it back tight inside. No more rattle. Still available if I ever want to use it.
