Did you disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes to erase the codes, after replacing the parts you replaced?
yes .. ckt 900 @ b to d-12 , may have intermitted fault.. i try to run new wire from those two points. seems like the relay burn off is not energerizing. there should be 12 volt at these terminals...
new wire run .. i have 12 volts...code 36 gone.. now have code 33....
i have new MAFF in 87.. installed it in 89....does not work..installed old 89 maff into .. works fine...results are that both MAFF are working in the 87.... ummmmmmmm...
i have tried replacing new 89 ECM with 87 ecm... code 33 with 87 ECM....(changed memcal respectivly).. still not working code 33..
option turn off SES lite?

Sounds like your in the right direction. From what I just read, you need to test the wiring some more. The wiring related to the code 36 is probably related to the code 33.
I have your exact same problem.... i have done absolutely everything but change ecm to find the cause of my code 36
ive even seen the wires glowing, so i know burnoff does occur.
im getting the only west aus vette mechanic to look at it on thursday... im a little scared of what the price is going to be though... when you concider that a c6 (lucky i have an 87) over here costs$150,000 U.S
ill let you know what was the cause when i get it back.

SEE , i not the only one....like i said i have gone over every wire at least 10 times. suspected a few. but turn out that they were not faulted...i have replaced ecm and swap out ecms' and maff sensor..AL RELAYS... and now got rid of code 36,, NOW code 33 is involved and the FSM suggests to check further wiring.. pheW!!!!
PS: i have swapped out the 87 for 2002 -C5- COUPE, pewter ,17,000km NEW , still has factory warranty..
PSS: will swap 89 out later this fall /late winter.....what does a 89 roadster sell for down under..maybe ship to there?

the reason is tax and shipping, then you have to convert it to RHD, thats almost as much as the car, depending on were you go to get it done.

we can buy c4's here for between 13,000 (really **** quallity) to over 100,000 (those are usually callaway twin turbos and low mile zr1)
the average pre92 cars is about 25,000 post 92 to 96 cars average about 45-50,000 in west aus
my 87 cost me 25, 000 with 80,000 miles. the paint is pretty good, and interior is good, but there was things that didnt work, or needed replacing... water pump, knock sensor, interior/some exterior lights.
Did you check the wires going into the fuel pump relay? I explained about the insulation problem and about bare wire to wire contact as a possibility. sorry, it's just hard for me to try and help if I don't know if this possibility has been checked and removed from the equation. You've obviously eliminated the possibility of a parts problems...that only leaves one thing in my mind.

the feul pump relay was also replaced and THERE ARE NO bare wires. these wires have current at thiers respective postions, AKA.... FSM.
this problem is now the code 33 which relates directly to code 36 trouble shooting(BTW CKT 900 was good), howevr, code 33 has it own set of diagonsics, i am going to following those through!..
AS I SAID BEFORE, ALL replacement parts have been check and verityied opperational..( they all were fitted into the 87 roadster, and work PRIMO! with no codes)....
I think you are definetly on the right track. It took me almost 2 years of head scratching to find the sensor wire to the computer was bad.(I had code 33) I started running new wiring for the different portions of the circuit until it finally went away. I started like you going through the FSM 20+ times and replacing all the components with no luck.
Keep at it eventually you will find it.
BTW: replacing questionable components with known good ones is a very good practice in diagnosing electronics. (If it is practical)

I'll only ask and then leave, seems like this is getting heated! Did you check the wires going into the fuel pump relay? And for guys who don't understand about the FP relay, and its function with the MAF..read code 34! It's quite common on these wires to have the insulation shrink back exposing bare wires and they do (at least in my case) come into contact with one another.However, I had to remove it from the firewall to see this.One last question, have you actually looked into the MAF during the burnoff function and observed the wires glowing?
This turned out to be my problem with code 36 on my 86. The wires which go to the Maf relay shorted due to exposed insulation. I ended up replacing wires and relays and got rid of code 36. Hope you find your solution soon . I know how frustrating the infamous code 36 can be!
