i have changed the
1. ecm
2. powerburn off relay
3. feul pump relay
4.maff sensor relay
5 maff sensor
resetcode each time . (silly, i remove the ECM fuse and waited several minutes)
check for open circuits through NOTE: THERE IS NONE!!!
what happening: when key is turn on. the relays enegerize. you hear and feel them work. check for voltage at the maff sensor. burn off circuit read 5 volts and the sensoing circuit records micro voltage (indicating it operational)...
Soo with the above in mind please suggest NEW course of repair ...not the "check the wiring" becuz THIS HAS BEEN DONE!!!
is the chip it self at fault? how could i test this chip..
i have datamaster that just records the fault it self or am i to look at the feul /air ratio in the tables?
IF YOU HAVE had the same problem , please indicate how YOU FIXED IT, please.

You could have bought a helm manual instead, and a months worth of food. Agent86 has the diagnostic flow charts posted online, but for 86. Better than nothing though.

Well, if you're certain all the wires and connections are fine, you've replaced MAF, and all relays, that only leaves one thing, as far as I can tell...last on the list, bad ECM.

That was the FIRST thing on the list of items he replaced. A great place to start!

Next, try changing the air filter, the oil and filter, the air in the tires and re-torquing the license plate bolts. If none of those help, then try checking the trouble shooting charts in your FSM for a code 36.
In my case, I had known good used parts available to me. Because I already owned them, I quickly swapped them out, one at a time, till I found my problem. I did not. Then I followed the helms chart down and came to the conclusion that the ecm was bad. . None on the shelf. Before I dropped the money down for a computer, I swapped the relay out again. What do you know, my known good one was Bad. Bit me in the azz. Long story short, double check everything.
I think re-torquing the license plate bolts might help.
Now, you did follow the FSM charts that Agent 86 has right. By following the charts you can easily find the problem. If you have followed them and replaced all the components listed above then I don't know what to tell you.

oh great, i USED THE TROUBLE shooting chart FOR THE 10 th time...BTW the license plates are tight.. and the FSM manual is open for the 20th time..
again my question was:
whom did /find thier problem and where was it located????
If you are certain that all parts are good and you have tested each part than run new wire from the maf to the ecm. I found mine as I explained before by pushing the pins in the maf sensor harness closer together however you have stated that this is not the case for you. The next course of action is then to rewire. I believe you only need to wire a few wires but there again I don't know but start with the wires for the burn off relay back to the ecm. Good luck, its hard to track down problems like this.
I did nothing and my problem just went away, The car still running with other minor problems, but the MAF relays ordered are still coming.
Kind of glad I didn't get around to completing a proper diagnostic otherwise I might have spent a lot more money and got used to the check engine light being on....
My humble appology...how I missed #1 ecm, is beyond me!
I'll only ask and then leave, seems like this is getting heated! Did you check the wires going into the fuel pump relay? And for guys who don't understand about the FP relay, and its function with the MAF..read code 34! It's quite common on these wires to have the insulation shrink back exposing bare wires and they do (at least in my case) come into contact with one another. However, I had to remove it from the firewall to see this. One last question, have you actually looked into the MAF during the burnoff function and observed the wires glowing?
Yeah, you have to follow the proper flow chart process before ranting.
BACK OFF//////What the H#$#$LLL . i have used the FSM . and it really doesn't matter if the book has been open 20 times . the flow chart for code 36, explain in detail where and what to do!!
AGAIN i asked , if you had a problem with code 36.. and what you did to fix it....

RACE ON!!!
you know you can be a pain in the azzzz sometimes!
would it be better if i replaced the ecm last? i have access to these parts for next to nothing..wholesale or less at times..
thank for your reply although it nothing but hot air from the same place "your azz"..
have you had this problem? how did you fix it and what/where was it located? or is that to complicated for you ?

"First", was in response to rick lambert, to point out that his suggestion had already been tried, in vain. You should have done as much, concerning the manual. YOU are the one that placed the 1. in front of it. "would it be better if i replaced the ecm last?" It would be better if you waited to replace the ECM until after such replacement were indicated. Access to free or reasonably priced parts is no excuse. Yes, sometimes substituting a questionable part with a proved, good, replacement can be a good diagnostic tool. Someday, maybe, you'll run across a doctor that subscribes to your school of diagnosis theory. "Yeah. I know it is your knee that doesn't work. But I have a great deal on this elbow. Let's just install it and see what happens." Or maybe, "I have some free sample PMS pills. Maybe they'll work instead of the heart you need." At least that LAST one might get you off the rag.
And speaking of being "a pain in the azzzz", why didn't you mention the use of the manual, and save a couple of us from wasting our time, in an effort to help the ranting and raving ungrateful?

you know quite well , that i take your opoin seriously! i in fact replaced all the components in the correct order as list in th fsm. I may have listed the ECM first..but i think i was explaining that i had replaced all components relatated to code 36.. i hav echeck all connection manys times and found them working..i merely want to know if any one else had the same problem, sos i may track the problem from thier experience.....
none the less. you have point out some things that did not fit well. that was by analazing the text rather then explaing the failure possiblities.
i did notstated i used the FSM in the first post . but how do you think i arrived to this stage of trouble shooting? oh i know, dont "assume"..
please, i do not want this to be a pizzin match, but rather use your intel, to further the remedy!
