I started my 95 auto this weekend after not starting it for a week. Now in first gear I hear a grinding noise coming from the rear. After it shifts out of first it goes away.Any ideas what this can be?
Does it grind everytime in first gear or was it a one time deal?
I only ask because there have been times where I had rust on teh rotors, and just the other day I did a dumbass move and installed a pad backwards, you want to talk about grinding, that sounded horrible!
Most manual trans cars get a clicking noise when you are first taking off and I only hear it in mine during first gear and it's only for a second.
Also if it's more of a buzzing, could be the ABS self test.
As for my clicking, changing hubs/bearings,brakes and U-Joints, I still get the noise.
How about a grrrr or rrrr sound that only last a second when you first start in first gear? Last year I changed the differential lube and added the two bottles of anti slip. That's when I started hearing the sound coming from the rearend. Someone told me to stop worrying about it and just drive.
