L98 Automatic owners
I have a question. What is the maximum speed that you can get the tranny to downshift at wide open throttle? On my 90 it is 57 MPH, after that if you mash it to the floor it just kinda builds up speed. So if you want to pass someone doing 65 MPH, what do you do? Is there an adjustment on the linkage that will allow you to downshift at WOT at higher speeds?

Teh first thing I would do is make friends with a person who owns a hi perf transmission shop, you should be able to mash the pedel down and the transmission should do the rest, remember you have less than 5000 rpm to work with before the L98 runs out of air.

I can still downshift at about 65, never really dropped the hammer higher than that (kinda feather it in and roll on)
Anyway, check your tv cable, follow the adjustments (should be a post somewhere, you can search for it) Car will be MUCH happier and downshift better

It also depends on your rear end gears ( I assume you have a 3.07:1 rear) The last time my car will down shift to 2nd is somewhere around 56-57 mph. I wouldn't want to down shift at higher mph, 2nd gear only goes to 67-68 mph in my car. My 2.73 down shift to 2nd at 65mph, my 3.73's only at 45mph.
