OK, the above video resulted in major crankcase pressure with damaged parts listed below.

Damage =
Cracked block from one head bolt to one cylinder bore
4 = bent push rods
1 = bent valve
3 = broken piston ring lands

So I went to;
Wiseco forged pistons,
Trick Flow Chrome Molly Pushrods
One new valve and all valves were back cut
Ported AFR 210's
New 400 CI block bored to 406CI
New Holley Stealth Ram, shold have pics next week

I think that since they were on the top end of the piston less air leaked
out because the bottoms were sealing some still and probably the air
filling the cylinder "might" have pressurized the cylinder making the
parts expand into the ID, just a guess.
Where were the pistons positioned during the leakdown testing?

.

At TDC

The wierd thing is that the ring lands did not come apart until I had the pistons out in my hands and started feeling around on them.

A couple of rings did seperate from the piston but,,,but the lands were still semi attached to the piston

It could always be worse, ever the optimist I learned a lot.
1. Forged Pistons always.
2. Check everything very closely before putting it back together.
3. Assume nothing.
4. It always take longer and costs more than I plan.

Hey Buddy,
I posted earlier during a T storm and it wouldnt do anything after I hit the button...it froze and i lost everything...just wanted to say hope this time around everything works and falls into place for your motor! You had alot of re tear down to do and wish I could come by and see it all,maybe lend a hand to having wrench on a Vette again.Just seeing it would be great and take my mind off alot of things.

I will PM you soon about the other things...ive been back and forth to Indy so many times its crazy...but will keep ya posted on it all soon.
Thanks again for your help and hope the family and you are doing great!
