Interchangeable Targa Tops?
a while back someone posted a list of what year targa tops fit what year cars (to be interchangable). so, i have to ask this question as i cannot locate it....
would a 91 targa top fit an 88 vette?...thanks!

think the change was in mid 90 model year. here's info from r-d's website.

1984 - 1988 are different from 1989 to 1996. You can buy aftermarket mounting brackets to put a 89-96 top on a 84-88 but I'm not aware of brackets to mount the older top on newer models. The e-bay listing isn't any help either. You can ask the seller to measure the distance between the mounting points and the measure the ones on your car. I'm pretty sure there is a difference in how far apart they are between the old and newer model tops but I can't dig it out of my memory right now."
PS. When doing a search for C4 stuff, go to advanced search, type in your words (such as "targa top"), then highlight JUST C4 and the subheadings below C4 only!. That will eliminate all the other forums. Makes search a heckuva lot easier.
