Default LT1 intake on L98

Gonna try to mod one for my 85,I will need some tech help from some you who have completed this swap.tia for any help on this.1. question will I need a smog pump eliminator kit or can it be removed and run a shorter belt??Would I be better off grinding the egr bosses to fit the large dist.?What about the cold start injector?Any problems with tv or accelarator cable?Anything not covered on the lt1intake website? Thanks again for any help.

If you grind off EGR will have small hole under runners to weld shut , no biggy.
Stock big cap HEI will now fit but fuel line across rear interferes with cap unless you go to custom lines with remote regulator so as to eliminate crossover pipe.
Will need custom chip burnt , get cold start removed when that done.
Bracket available to take T700 cable on LT1 manifold. (www.tpiparts.com from memory)

i raised my alternator up to where the air pump was and used a shorter belt ...i think the belt is oem 93 van/no ac--i'll get the napa number off mine if you want but if your brackets are a liitle different you will need the next size up or down....i have a remote mounted 94 caprice elec smog pump that only runs when air is reqd.
you will need to machine off the lt1 egr to get room for either big or small dist, big needs a little more milling time, no big deal...the big dist is a better piece and won't need a remote coil mount (much hassle for a minor thing there), also no wiring adapter(small hassle)...use a free standing egr valve from a 85 camaro v6 and run a 3/8 steel tube to the exist front manifold tapping for smog (gotta let that exhaust cool below ignition temp before injecting it into manifold)...plugging the old egr holes with a bolt-in (small) chunk of aluminum and finishing with j-b weld epoxy works fine--welding means machining the flanges flat again.
use a 94-96 intake with front fuel crossover...stock fuel reg works with a slight rotation in its socket and make a retainer clip as reqd...i used 91 lumina apv fuel hoses and hardware store compression unions to hook up fuel supply and returns without chopping stock at all--my local napa guy just started selling nylon oem-type hoses and reqd fittings for abt $60 to do it ez.
stock chip ran betterwith my lt1 intake than on the tpi...didn't use the cold start injector with either (old rail digger shoe thing-get oil press up before you fire it)...no doubt a custom chip would improve perf more but i'm tryin to restrain myself till fall to start big block switch
