my diverter valve or the relay for it has gone bad (electrical connector and funky device underneith maf sensor. it's making this crazy buzzing/whineing/humming noise please correct me if i'm refering to the wrong part. i checked the chiltons and it was little help. should i be worried about this part??? or just let it die and remove the whole air system?
seems like it's a dealer only part i've found some on ebay but i'm not sure if there what i'm looking for.... (part number wise)
went out and took a pic
arrow points to what i believe is one of the diverter valves for the air pump? correct me if i'm wrong...
so pretty much just cap off the cat, vacc lines and a couple others, what about the pump? i'd need one of those air pump eliminator brackets or can i just leave it in there.........
how bad is the uninstallation? general time frame it should take me? just wondering if i should start this now or wait till my next couple days off. if it's a hour job w/ little problems i'm game right now, and as long as the pump can stay in.
any links to good elimintator/write-up is greatly appreciated.
You could leave the pump, but why, it's so damn ugly
Heres a link to some info on one i put together for my 86. The calculations were based on my 86, but the 85 should be identical. http://members.shaw.ca/dankai/Air%20...Delete%20Info/

the only reason i'd leave it was due to not having the elimenator. i need to buy one.
