While that's a good width on the front, 9" is a little narrow for the rears. If it were mine, I'd put 255/45 on the front and 275/40's on the rear. You could go 275/40's at all four corners.

Yep, I'd suggest the same as Larry. 255/45 and 275/40's

Thanks:
I know, i would have like to go with larger rim on the rear, but the package price for all 4 was just great.... so if I'm reading you right, there should be no issue with that tire size(s) with my rims (frt & back)

A 275 tire is the widest recommend width for a 9" wheel. Might as well go with 275's on all four so you can rotate them.

Browse tirerack.com for the ones you're interested in. Most, if not all, of the tires will have a spec sheet that will give you the suggested/min/max rim width.

Eagle F1 GS-D3, for example.

Are you going to use spacers since the C6 wheel offset is not correct for the 84 to 87 models? They will sit inboard about 3/4 inch. (56mm less 38mm) could affect you tire choice.

The rims are 38mm so direct fit.

I used to have 255s up front, the car is much much more fun now with wider tires up front. Get as wide as you can...i.e. 275 GS-D3s.

Where did you order them from? AFS is about the only place I have been able to find the correct offset and only a molds, would love to have more choices for my 85
