While that's a good width on the front, 9" is a little narrow for the rears. If it were mine, I'd put 255/45 on the front and 275/40's on the rear. You could go 275/40's at all four corners.

I know, i would have like to go with larger rim on the rear, but the package price for all 4 was just great.... so if I'm reading you right, there should be no issue with that tire size(s) with my rims (frt & back)

Browse tirerack.com for the ones you're interested in. Most, if not all, of the tires will have a spec sheet that will give you the suggested/min/max rim width.
Are you going to use spacers since the C6 wheel offset is not correct for the 84 to 87 models? They will sit inboard about 3/4 inch. (56mm less 38mm) could affect you tire choice.

Where did you order them from? AFS is about the only place I have been able to find the correct offset and only a molds, would love to have more choices for my 85
