I'm attending a military school near Petersburg, VA and last Friday I packed my bags to visit Philadelphia. On my way up there I made it to Maryland/Vermont and I saw "Sunoco gas stations". I remembered this thread and I went for it. For the first time I used Sunoco 93 in my C4. Immediately after start-up, there was a noticeable difference. It is a better fuel, the LT1 was running at it's best!!
No Sunoco gas in Oklahoma, and 93 octane is getting to be VERY elusive. 91 octane is the norm, and everything is now 10% ethanol, regardless of whose brand is on it.
We all need to get used to ethanol in the States; it will be everywhere soon, mandated by Washington as this seems to be the energy policy of the future.
MTBE stands methyl tertiary butyl ether. Mandated by idiots in Washington then found to cause serious probelms as it leaked out of tanks into ground water. Now phased out and replaced with ethanol (as an oxygenate).
