Default Drillnig out a Slave cylinder

A while back one of the forum members mentioned he drilled out his slave cylinder line connection port in order to get quicker response from the clutch. I searched the forum and couldn't find the post. I think it was from the summer 2005. Does anyone know the recommended drill bit size? Also if anyone tried this does it increase, decrease or not change the pedal force?

Thanks,

Jim

Default Call Walt at Pro Motion Powertrain

Walt is a Tranny whiz, He did a T5 for me years ago on my Stang. When i saw him at the track I asked if he did ZF6 work he said yes, but immediately mentioned the drill out mod. He told me to call the shop to get the bit size I just have not needed to fool with it. their web site is promotionpowertrain.com

Measure the ID of the clutch hyd-line and drill to that ID, thats what I did. I dont recall the exact dimension.

Thanks guys. After I posted the link I thought about measuring the line ID as well. Should work. Did you find it impacted the pedal force at all?

Thanks again,

Jim

Default pedal felt the same to me

I had the DRM modded piece, the pedal seemed the same the change has to do with the takeup on the clutch, you won't run out of fluid when you shift quickly through the gears, the factory restrictor was to reduce the shock to the drivetrain but lets the disk heat up due to slow takeup.

Guys, have you noticed any difference at the track, more difficult launches?

I guess I could do this mod to help my side-step burnouts, and then when actually racing just let the clutch out slower.
