I have a 94 LT1 vette. We just replaced the cap and rotor because the car has been sitting for a few years and it was corroded really bad. Tried to start it and it runs on like 5 cylinders (as it did before the cap and rotor change). We checked the wires, they are all good. All the plugs are good. The only thing we noticed is the rotor has some play in it. Is this normal or is this a problem? If so, what can be done to fix it? Any other suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks .
LT1 came with a cap and rotor? I thought they had an Opti-Spark distributer.
If you are changing out a cap and rotor, you must have an L98. Anyways, my rotor had a tiny little bit of play in it. As long as it does not spin all the way around while the distributer hold down clamp is bolted on tightly, it shouldn't be a problem.
